The Bryant family and three other families have been awarded a settlement totaling over $50 million dollars to be paid by Los Angeles County.
The settlement stems from a lawsuit filed by the four families who were affected by the circulation of photos from the 2020 helicopter crash that killed nine people, including Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant.
Vanessa Bryant and daughters Natalia, Bianka, and Capri will receive $28,850,000 from the settlement payout with the rest distributed among the other families.
“Today marks the successful culmination of Mrs. Bryant’s courageous battle to hold accountable those who engaged in this grotesque conduct,” Bryant’s lawyer Luis Li told NYT. “She fought for her husband, her daughter, and all those in the community whose deceased family were treated with similar disrespect. We hope her victory at trial and this settlement will put an end to this practice.”
