The President said we can forget about a check…

In the midst of a pandemic and massive job loss…45 continues to be 45

If you’re one of the select individuals who received a $1200 (more or less) stimulus check earlier this year, that guy who just faked had Covid just tweeted that he ain’t signing any checks until after he’s reelected. Unsurprisingly, the Dow Jones plunged more than 400 points after his announcement.

“I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business,” he continued. “I have asked Mitch McConnell not to delay, but to instead focus full time on approving my outstanding nominee to the United States Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett.”

Negotiations for a new economic relief package or stimulus deal have been underway for months. Over the past couple of days, Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has been in talks to come to an agreement on both the Republican and Democrat proposals, but negotiation have halted recently as neither side could agree to a dollar amount.

So, is there still a chance for a stimulus before dem kids hit y’all up with their Christmas lists? We don’t know. The way 2020 has been going, this can go either way. But no one over here is holding their breaths either.
