Letitia Wright Under Fire?

Black Panther star Letitia Wright is taking heat and seems to be on the receiving end of backlash from some of her fans. This came after she shared a video of a YouTuber who questioned the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic, casting doubt on the effectiveness of any vaccines.

On Thursday evening, Wright sent out a (now deleted) tweet with a prayer hands emoji along with a link to a video by Tomi Arayomi, a self-proclaimed prophet, author, and founder of RIG Nation, “a media platform with the Christian mission” from 2007. The video has been removed by YouTube for violating its terms of service.I n the video titled “COVID-19 VACCINE, SHOULD WE TAKE IT?” Arayomi shared his thoughts on a number of current events, and stated his belief that people should cling to their right to put faith in factually incorrect information.

Twitter users responded to Wright, explaining that sharing a non-expert’s rant about the vaccine can be harmful. Letitia responded, “If you don’t conform to popular opinions, but ask questions and think for yourself….you get cancelled,” with a laughing emoji, which garnered even more responses.

“You’re not asking any questions, rather you’re using your huge platform to spread misinformation & then getting upset at people pushing back on that,” said one Twitter user. Another said, “It’s not really an ‘opinion’ when it’s a scientific fact where people’s lives are on the line….”Someone else wrote, “It’s not about cancelling. It’s about the fact that you are harming other people by not getting vaccinated.”

Letitia subsequently responded with a tweet, stating, “my intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in out bodies.”
