Breonna Taylor and Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron

UPDATE: Did Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron lie to jurors in Breonna Taylor case? Another grand juror comes forward.

A second Grand Juror has come forward also alleging that Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron was not truthful during the proceedings.

A second Grand Juror has come forward to back up another Grand Jurors statement that the Grand Jurors were not provided with any additional options for charges to consider in the Breonna Taylor case other than the Wanton Endangerment charge. Grand Jurors are now legally able to speak out about their decision making process in the Breonna Taylor case, bringing about more questions about Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s involvement.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear released a statement demanding that Cameron release all information from the gran jury proceedings.

“The current situation raises serious concerns, as multiple grand jurors are now claiming Attorney General Cameron has not been truthful to the public about what occurred in the grand jury process,” Beshear said in a statement, according to CNN.

On October 20, 2020, we reported the following:

A grand juror who was part of the controversial Grand Jury that failed to indict any of the officers involved in Breonna Taylor’s death with any charges related to her death has spoken up. After filing a motion requesting to legally speak out about the case, “Anonymous Juror #1” is alleging that Kentucky Attorney General, Daniel Cameron, lied about the charges the officer could face.

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, the anonymous juror suggested that Cameron failed to present the option of any other criminal charges beyond the wanton endangerment charges for the gunshots fired which only damaged property, and did not impact Taylor. Anonymous Juror #1 also said that grand jurors asked if there were any other charges they could consider to which they were given the answer of no.

Grand Juror # 1 was quoted in an article by NewsOne, stating, “The grand jury was not presented any charges other than the three Wanton Endangerment charges against Detective Brett Hankison. The grand jury did not have homicide offenses explained to them. The grand jury never heard anything about those laws,” Anonymous Juror #1 said in part before continuing later. “Questions were asked about additional charges and the grand jury was told there would be none because the prosecutors didn’t feel they could make them stick.”

Anonymous Juror # 1 ended their statement saying, “I can help the truth be told,” which may suggest Cameron and his office lied during the hearing.
